Non Partisan Statement

The League of Women Voters of Martin County is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for public office. League members, as individuals, are encouraged to participate in the party of their choice by contributing their time, energy and finances in support of candidates, as well as to be active generally in the governmental process. While the League urges its members to be politically active, there are some constraints necessary for its officers in order to maintain a nonpartisan policy.
